No Pet Left Behind

The US Humane Society is focusing on an effort to set up plans to evacuate pets in emergencies. With the hurricane season around the corner in the US, I clearly recall last year's disasters. Who could forget scenes showing the animal rescues and the joy of the reunions with family. But who could forget that thousands of pets didn't make it because they were left behind for weeks in forced dehydration, starvation and unattended injuries that took their lives.

ANYONE with a beloved pet companion at home needs to get behind this effort. All it takes is three minutes of your time and a signature on a petition. Do it. Let's not abandon those friends who are always loyal to us.
