The proof of time

I'm slowly adding books to my LibraryThing, taking a shelf every other day from different parts of the house. This morning, in the diningroom, or what is supposed to be a diningroom but is really a sitting room, my old collection of gardening, spirituality and etcetera. I grad a handful of books. Something falls on the floor. It's an envelope and inside is an electric bill from 2002 with payment. My check for the cost of electricity - $45. Yes. $45. Just four years ago. That same bill today is often three time $45. Proof of time. Thank you, George - for ignoring alternative, renewable, cheaper sourcer of energy. King George the Idiot is turning us all into radishes. Doesn't take long at all, just four years' time.
