Meet the newest slime mold beetles

How apropos. Bush, Cheney & Rumsfeld have a new notoriety. Recently, the team who discovered 65 new species of slime mold beetle have named three species after these fellers.

That would be: Agathidium bushi Miller and Wheeler, Agathidium cheneyi Miller and Wheeler, and Agathidium rumsfeldi Miller and Wheeler.

Here are a few close-up shots of this now infamous creature. It looks alot like the nasty things creeping around and eating detritus off the floor or from animal litter boxes. Goodness - from the looks of it, the slime mold beetle must have inspired the One Finger Victory Salute!
